Make one character, choose any appearance you like, and apply any pattern to the clothing. Do you want a playboy who wears purple leopard print? You can have one. Shy bookworm cutie that is more adept in the kitchen than the social scene? You can have one. The game has many interesting traits to combine and play with to create whacky perfectly adjusted or perfectly maladjusted characters.

Shoot ‘em all, and let god sort them out.

That line perfectly describes these games. If you’re looking for a deep story, and strong character development, go play something else. This series is all about mowing down endless waves of enemy soldiers and having a blast while doing it. It’s a classic arcade shoot ‘em up designed to devour your quarters, Especially bosses which take thousands of hits to take down.

A Classic Series Reborn, Albeit with some Technical Issues

Heroes of Might & Magic is one of a few series that are the foundations of PC gaming. It comes from a long list of PC exclusive or nearly PC exclusive franchise strategy series such as Warcraft, Command and Conquer, Age of Empires, Civilization, and many others. However, with a new developer at the helm after the original developer New World Computing closed its doors, Heroes V was viewed by many in the time leading up to its release as a make-or-break moment in the series; it would either redeem the series or destroy it. Interestingly, though, it does neither; rather, it stays in the grey area between greatness and failure and simply refuses to go anywhere.

Even the Best of Us Make Mistakes

The team at Flagship Studios, the creators of Hellgate: London, had a tall order to fill. The last time this team produced a game, they were still at Blizzard, where they gave us the iconic Diablo II and its expansion pack, The Lord of Destruction. While they bring many of the things to Hellgate that made those two titles great, they have dropped the ball in many ways, leading to a disappointing product that fails to live up to its expectations.

This is One Legend You Can Afford to Miss

The Game Boy Advance, over the years, has basically become a portable SNES, and as someone who looks back on the 16-bit era with a lot of affection, I don’t necessarily have a problem with that.  However, every now and then, a game comes along that doesn’t necessarily “fit” with the whole portable-SNES setup.  Lunar Legend is one of those games.
