Playstation 2's JRPG Swan Song
I've made it no secret on the podcast that I enjoy weird Japanese games. The more bizarre the concept, the better in my opinion. I've heard about the Sakura Wars games well before this one was released, and I was always curious about them, but I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that one would never be released on our shores. Well shows what I know, because NIS America took a chance and decided to release Sakura Wars: So Long my Love, which is the fifth game in the series. So was it worth the wait? In my opinion, yes it was.

Chronicling the exploits of Phillip of Macedon (Philip the second) is no easy feat. His multiple marriages, military campaigns and cunning use of social warfare are sources of legend. Along with those historical bits of fame, Philip was also the father of Alexander the Great. With that being said, Longbow Games from Toronto, Ontario, Canada have done an exemplary job of recreating the fantastic military campaigns of Philip of Macedon. The span of the game covers the conquering of Greece and the defeat of the Persian invaders. This RTS is unquestionably well put together, very long, and incredibly fun.

People you've probably never heard of, versus people you might have heard of.
For a lot of fans of Capcom's Vs series of fighting games, the above was probably a true statement. I admit, there were quite a few characters I did not recognize, and that goes for both sides of the roster. This doesn't mean the game isn't an absolute blast to play, though. Tatsunoko Vs Capcom is a solid and welcome entry into the series. Especially since the Wii doesn't have many good fighting games.

I walk the line.
Ok, so I guess I do owe Square a bit of an apology here. I said on quite a few of the podcasts that I thought this game was going to be terrible. I was wrong. Final Fantasy XIII turned out to actually be quite good. It's just one of those games that sounds horrible on paper, but works out incredibly well in execution. It's not without its flaws of course, but what game isn't? I can honestly say, though, that I am glad that I took a chance with Final Fantasy XIII.

For the Imperium!
I really enjoyed Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War and its expansion packs, and I was a little worried when I heard that Dawn of War II was making some drastic changes, but I'm pleased to say that everything seems to have worked out.
