Second Verse, Not Quite as Good as the First
The original Bioshock still stands out to me as one of the greatest games I have ever played. The wonderfully realized world of Rapture as well as the brilliant characters of the game almost made me forget about the horrible problems I had getting the PC version to run on my machine. Still, once you got it to work, it was one of the best games of the last decade, hands down.

Diablo-Clone Done Right
There are many games out there that fall into the category of the Diablo-Clone, and many of them are not very good. I'm pleased to say, however, that Torchlight does not have that problem. It turns out to not only be a very competent action RPG, but it even does some things to improve on its obvious inspiration.

Demonic, Witty Librarians ATTACK!
Five hundred years ago the world was kept in balance by two forces that controlled the “Eyes of the World”, the Umbra Witches and Lumen Sages. The “Eyes of the World” allowed the two factions to watch over the world and care for it from the ancient city of Vigrid, located in a hard to reach valley somewhere in Europe. These two factions were different aspects of the world, Umbra Witches being darkness (note not evil) that controlled the “Left Eye”, and the Lumen Sages were of the light that controlled the “Right Eye”. However five hundred years ago a rule was broken and the paths of light and dark crossed and bore a child, Bayonetta. Fast forward to the present we find that Bayonetta has been awakened from a pseudo-stasis of 480 or so years with amnesia, and hunts the heavenly host and works with a demonic weapons dealer named Rodin. Events start to take shape around Bayonetta as her memory returns. This is the general background for Hideki Kamiya’s new release Bayonetta. The game bears a general resemblance to the previous release by Kamiya Devil May Cry; however it has its own unique flair.

I Just Wanted A Few Zombies...So Many Zombies!
Looking out across the mall's atrium as the elevator descends, the sea of infected writhe with unholy aggression around the stock car you plan to escape in. In your hands are an AK-47 and a frying pan. The elevator dings, its infected killing time. So begins the final stage of the first chapter of Valve's Left 4 Dead 2, the sequel to the wildly popular Left 4 Dead.

Molto bene!
I'm gonna start out by saying this game is a better in every conceivable way from the original Assassin's Creed. It truly is what the first game should have been, and then some: better characters, a more in depth plot, better story flow, more weapons and abilities, a greater variety of side missions, and so on. In a nutshell, the game is just...more. Its another example on how to make a great 3rd person action game.
