The first episode of season two of Sam & Max was really good, which is why I’m so disappointed in the second one.

In Moai Better Blues, the second episode of season two of Sam & Max, The Freelance Police journey to Easter Island, where they must stop a huge volcano from destroying the island.

This was probably my least favorite episode of Sam & Max so far.  Most of the puzzles seemed very obtuse to me; if there were clues as to what I was supposed to do to solve them, I couldn’t find them.  Also, many of the characters and objects you encounter in the episode are completely irrelevant to the game, which I always understood to be an adventure gaming no-no.

That being said, there are a few funny moments in this game.  Some of the jokes are downright hilarious.  The graphics are good, but that isn’t much of a plus, since it’s pretty much the same as the other games, for obvious reasons.

In conclusion, I’d try this game before you buy if you can.  It’s rather hit and miss, and I’m not sure that I’d pay ten bucks for it again.
