So here is part two of my review of Fallout 3. There was just so much to say about this game, I had to divide it up. In this one, I will be talking about Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Point Lookout, and Broken Steel. I have yet to play Mothership Zeta, and it may be awhile before I do, so it won't be included in this review. Also one note before I begin, all of these DLC chapters cost 800 Microsoft funbucks a piece.

Operation Anchorage:  Your character is asked by outcasts of the Brotherhood of Steel to be a test subject for a simulator they found. This one offers a bit of backstory to the Fallout universe. You become an American soldier fighting off the Chinese who have invaded Alaska. This takes place several years before even the first Fallout, a time before the bombs fell. It was pretty interesting I felt, but really it was all about the reward. A gauss rifle, and a suit of winterized power armor. There were some other things, but those were the ones that made it all worth it. I knocked a Behemoth on it's ass with one shot from that gauss rifle, and the power armor didn't seem to take durability damage. So yeah, worth it.

The Pitt: This DLC takes place in the ruins of Pittsburgh, a city that is pretty much a slave colony. You are confronted by a slave who has run away, and offer to help him find a cure for the disease that runs rampant in the city. This was probably my least favorite of the download content; it had a pretty good story line, and was worth it in that respect. There wasn't really a lot of new weaponry; the only thing I saw was the auto axe. It's basically an axe head on the end of a power saw, which is pretty amusing, and also effective. Still, its the only one I kinda regret getting.

Point Lookout: A mysterious riverboat has appeared on the Potomac river, which takes you to Point Lookout, Maryland, which really looks more like something you'd find in the deep south. Swampland and mutant hillbillies are everywhere. This was probably my favorite of the DLC. For one, it had my two favorite weapons in the game: the double-barrel shotgun and the lever action rifle, which was ridiculously powerful. Also, and here is a slight spoiler, there is a crazy cult in the game that will only let you in after you go to this swamp and eat a mysterious fruit that is there which will give you a “vision”. And by vision they mean you will be tripping some serious balls. It is like the trippiest drug induced freakout I have ever seen in any video game ever. Good times!

Broken Steel: This one actually extends the game, you won't experience anything from this DLC till you actually finish the main story, or gain enough experience to level past 20. Broken Steel raises the level cap to 30, and adds a bunch of new and rather interesting perks. I can't really mention much about the story, as it directly follows the events of the main storyline. Really though, all you need to know about this DLC is that you get a Tesla Canon. It's basically a rocket launcher that fires balls of electricity. It's even more fun than it sounds.

Well that pretty much wraps up my review of four of the five Fallout 3 DLC packs. While I would say they are worth buying individually, do like I said in my other Fallout review, just wait till the Game of the year addition comes out. It's only a couple months away, and it has all five of them.

System: Xbox 360

Genre: First-Person RPG
