So as many of you probably already know, GamesCom is being held this week in Cologne, Germany. Among the many exhibitors attending was of course, Sony. As many people were expecting, they made announcement regarding both a PS3 price drop, and the arrival of the PS3 Slim. While, it doesn't really bring any new hardward functionality to the table, it does bring a smaller frame, and also a smaller price tag: $299. It also has a 120 gig hard drive, which I feel is pretty nice. It is expected to be available everywhere world wide by the first week of September.

Also, along with this announcement, it seems Sony is also lowering the cost of all of the current PS3 systems out there to $299, effective tomorrow. Not too bad, Sony.
