So what is up with video game companies these days? They seriously need to step up security big time. First, Sony with all the PS3 slim rumors, and now Blizzard is just leaking information like nobody's business. According to a post on MMO-Champion, it looks like information on the upcoming WoW expansion, supposedly titled Cataclysm, has been revealed. Not just a little bit either, but pretty much everything. As of this writing it has not been confirmed whether or not this is legitimate; some of it sounds plausible, but we won't know for sure until Blizzcon next week. Here are some of the notable changes that are mentioned. There are some slight spoilers here; consider yourself warned. Some great catastrophe has apparently hit Azeroth! What that is, I'm not sure...but its apparently done some cosmetic surgery to the world. The Level cap has been raised from 80 to 85. New race/class combinations include: Human Hunter, Orc Mage, Night Elf Mage, Dwarf Mage, Blood Elf Warrior, Dwarf Shaman, Tauren Paladin, Tauren Priest, Gnome Priest, Troll Druid. Two new races: Golbin for the horde, Worgen for the Alliance. No new continent in this expansion, instead several areas of Azeroth have been revamped. Blizzard intends to use "phasing" alot more in this expansion. Orgrimmar is rumored to have been destroyed, and Durotar is a wasteland (or well moreso of one) The orcs have built a new settlement. The Gnomes may indeed retake Gnomeregan. Some dungeons may be updated for lvl 80-85 players Mount Hyjal has been added as a new zone. Flying mounts will be usable in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. And finally one big update to the story! Here come the spoilers folks: Thrall takes off to do battle with the Naga and Black Dragonflight and makes probably the worst idea he could have ever made. He leaves leadership of the horde to Garrosh Hellscream. Who lets his new found power go right to his head. He declares open war on the Alliance, and due to as of now unknown reasons, declares that Cairne Bloodhoof is a traitor, and has him executed. Holy shit! So yeah, there are some fun times ahead in WoW. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited, even half of this is true, it's gonna be a good time. I can't wait to play as a goblin. |
