I do realize that summer is the time of movie blockbusters being released. I had no idea it was where every producer in Hollywood and his brother would announce a new film based off of a video game. In the last week alone, there has been news about Castlevania, Warcraft, and even Asteroids.
The newest video game that might soon have its big screen debut, is...well actually fairly new itself. That game is inFamous. Sheldon Turner, the screen writer responsible for such films as The Longest Yard (the 2005 one), and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning has made a pitch to Sony pictures studio about making an inFamous movie. They are currently still in talks, and nothing has been finalized yet. On a personal note, I haven't played inFamous yet, but from watching Joe play...and just the premise itself, it seems like it would be fairly easy to transform into a movie. Especially considering recent Hollywood attempts at the superhero genre, they've proven it can be done. So we'll just have to wait and see.
