At least in their video games, anyway. Recently there has been a rise in gang activity in China. As a response the government has issued a ban on all games that glorify organized crime and also the websites that advertise them.

Of course per standard policy, any one violating such law will be "severely punished" They really didn't go into detail what that means, but I'm sure it will be quite unpleasant. China's culture ministry had this to say: "These games advocate obscenity, gambling, or violence, and undermine morality and Chinese traditional culture. They also encourage people to deceive, loot and kill, and glorify gangsters' lives. It has a bad influence on youngsters."

Did Jack Thompson move to China? It sure sounds like it. He probably didn't, but he should. He seems to have the same views on Grand Theft Auto as they do they would welcome him with open arms.
