It was confirmed earlier today that the upcoming Warcraft movie has a director. Which I suppose is a good place to start if you're making a movie. That director would be Sam Raimi. You can practically hear the screams of rejoicing fanboys around the globe.

Raimi had this to say: “At its core, Warcraft is a fantastic, action-packed story, I am thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen.”

Sam Raimi is of course responisble for the cult classic Evil Dead movies, as well as the Spiderman series. The movie will be produced by Dark Knight director Charles Roven, and co- produced by Blizzard's VP of creative development Chris Metzen.

I thought this movie was just a rumor, but I guess not anymore.  No tentative release date has been given as of yet.
