It seems Blizzard can't keep secrets these days. First it was revealed that they trademarked something known as Cataclysm, which may or may not be the next WoW expansion. Now something else may have been leaked. Either by accident, or maybe this is Blizzard's idea of a teaser.

Four masks have appeared as items in an upcoming test patch: A goblin male and female, and two that look like werewolves, which believe are called Worgen. There is alot of talk in the WoW community that these could possibly be the new races in the upcoming expansion. Blizzard of course really hasn't said anything about a new WoW expansion as of yet, so this is merely speculation.

I for one would welcome goblins as a playable race. I know Matt would as well, as we discussed this at length on the July 12th podcast. They are more of a neutral race, however, so it's unclear which side they would join, or whether it would be the start of a new "neutral" faction. Blizzcon is just a little over a month away, so perhaps we'll learn more then.
