Well GamesCom wasn't the only convention this week. Blizzcon started today. It's Blizzard's annual tribute to itself, and also where they make most of their major game announcements for the year.

This year, being no exeception. The opening ceremonies have just concluded, and they have already made a couple of big revelations. Or rather they would have been if they wouldn't have been leaked.

The first was a new class for Diablo 3, which was the monk. This was actually discovered on Blizzard's Korean webiste. A video was also shown at Blizzcon of the monk in action.

The other announcement was something we all found out about a few days ago, but Blizzard at least confirmed it. The next World of Warcraft expansion: Cataclysm. There was also a trailer shown, and it from the sounds of it, the rumors that were leaked the other day seem to be legit.

Here is the first look at World of Warcraft: Cataclysm courtesy of 1up.com.  I gotta say, it looks pretty bad ass.

So originally I heard that the release date for Cataclysm was coming out sometime next year. However, I recieved a call this morning from Gamestop, just to tell me that I should pre-order it, because it comes out November 2nd. At this point I can't find anything that confirms this, so its could be just Gamestop jumping the gun like they sometimes do.
