Hello again, Warcraft fans! It's time for another round of my experiences and frustrations in the World of Warcraft. I really haven't had that many frustrations as of late, at least not with my priest, mostly because I've been playing solo. Morteas is still Holy spec, and I continue to be surprised how easy it is to level with that spec. I get the feeling that it will probably hit a plateau eventually and I may have to switch over to shadow. Until then, however, I'm gonna enjoy playing this spec. In fact, it just got even easier. I just got a talent called Surge of Light. Whenever I get a spell critical hit, there is 50% chance that my next cast of Smite will be instant cast, and cost no mana. It's really helpful, because my spell critical rate is fairly high.
I also got the talent skill called Lightwell. It’s one of those skills that sound pretty good on paper, but might not be that good in execution. It places this big beacon of light on the ground, and when someone touches it, they regain quite of bit of health back in a short amount of time. Awesome, right? Well, according to Blizzard's recent priest Q&A, not so much. The problem is that even though the healing it gives is excellent, it seems that everyone pretty much ignores it, or thinks that it's a chore to walk up and touch it. Which is a shame, it sounds like it would make healing much easier. Especially when faced with enemies who do AoE damage. That way I could concentrate on healing the tank, and not have to worry if a DPS drops. Although it is just one skill, there are still other ways to heal more than one person. Lightwell would help conserve mana, though. Moving on to the real big story this week: patch 3.2, Call of the Crusade, dropped this week, bringing with it cheaper and easier to obtain mounts. There was a fair amount of complaining about this, mainly from people who have been playing from the beginning, and paid a bajillion gold for their first mount. I guess I could see their point; I might be a little sore too. However, most complaints were drowned out by level forty characters squealing with joy that they could buy an epic mount. I also joined in with that crowd as my priest is level 46. Then I joined the level 20's celebrating getting their first mount, as now my mage and warrior also have mounts. Thank you, Blizzard! I really haven't experienced any of the other new content either. Mostly because none of my characters are high enough level. However, I did log onto my shaman on Kilrogg, and played around with the new totem manager thing they added. Holy crap, this is the greatest thing ever added for shamans. Basically, you pick four totems as a set, one of each element, and with the press of one button you drop all four at once. It's so incredibly helpful. There are three skills for this, so you can have up to three different totem combinations that you can switch on the fly. Again, I say thank you Blizzard! It really does make me wanna play my shaman again, so don't be surprised next week if you hear about me either moving him to Thunderhorn or just starting one from scratch. Well, that should do it for this week. It was a fairly upbeat edition of WoE, didn't have a lot of bad things happen since the last article. I guess they all can't be about frustrations. Next week, I may start on my series about Wailing Caverns, though; That place is made of pain and suffering. So, till then, thanks for reading, and good luck at questing, raiding or whatever it is you do in this crazy world...of Warcraft.
