Hello again to you reader, and fellow World of Warcraft fan. It's time again for more of my ramblings. Figured this would be good a time as any to write my article for the week, as it seems there was an unexpected delay during the regular Tuesday maintenance, and I'm still waiting for the Thunderhorn server to come back up. If they are taking this time to fix the instance problem thats been going on for a few weeks now, I say they can take their time getting the server back up.

Maintenance day happens every Tuesday from 7am to 1pm CST.  This is a well known fact, and there are sometimes delays that happen, it just can't be helped. But oh man, do people complain about it.  If they're even one minute late getting the servers back up you better believe there will be at least five people making threads in the forums bitching about it.

This is really the same for any MMO, though. The players for a lot of these games just don't have any patience. I can sort of see why people might complain when it comes to games like WoW, or Lord of the Rings Online. You're actually paying money for those. Sometimes they do comp you for unseen extended maintenance, by giving you a day or two extra for free. So really there's not much to complain about. If you play a free MMO, you're not paying for it, so stop your whining. I guess it's partly my fault for going to the forums.  Some of the posts are somewhat fun to read and laugh at, though, especially those saying that they are quitting the game, or that they demand to be compensated in some way.

I usually talk a little about my progress in the game, so here it goes: I started over. Took my level 63 priest and chucked him out the window. It just wasn't fun anymore; I had to respec into shadow, because holy wasn't cutting it anymore. I really did not like the play style at all; it's like a warlock, but you don't have a voidwalker to stand in front of you to take hits. Overall, it was just really boring.

I have this habit, where even if I have open character slots, I still delete characters I'm not gonna play anymore. I don't know why, its just how I've always done things, no one else understands it either, plus I wanted to keep the name Morteas. This isn't the first time it's happened, did the same thing with my orc warrior on Kilrogg, got him to 60, lost interest and deleted him. However, usually after this happens I find the one thing I really wanted to play all along, and just ride a bullet train from 1 to 80. Which is what I'm hoping will happen with my new fire mage. Currently he is level 15.

I do believe I made a few people either angry or just completely confused in the wake of this. My guild tried to convince me for like a half hour not to do this. Ultimately it was my decision, but still I do feel somewhat bad. I did take a couple items that were soul bound to me that I couldn't give back, and the guild did need a healer. I think they are pretty sore about that last one. I'll find someway to make up for it.

Really though, sometimes it just takes me a long time to realize if I like a class or not. Usually by level 30 I can tell, but if things drastically change later on and it's just not fun anymore, then I'll just stop playing it and it might as well be thrown out. I've done that with every single MMO I've ever played. I was particularly bad with Ragnarok Online, probably took more than 30 characters to a second job only to delete them a week later.

Well I guess that covers pretty much everything this week. It was kind of a rocky road, but things will improve. Well anyway till next time, good luck questing, raiding, or whatever it is you do in this crazy world...of Warcraft!
